My project:
Introduction
As far as I can think, the purpose of making such a project is to see how much we did understand and comprehend what we have studied through our course “Fundamentals of executive management”.
I believe if I can go into what we have studied in steps, and apply them to my project then I will succeed to apply them in all aspects of life.
My project here is how to apply management science to the base organization of the universe, which is “Family”. And why is that? Because family is the only organization managed with no system and left for individuals to run in their own way which is not normally based on any scientific basis but based on individual experiences and mentality.
Lately, it has been noticed that the rate of separation and divorce is increasing, marriage age is raised, finding the suitable match is nearly impossible and most of families are not happy and the output of any of these factors will definitely affect the personality of the coming generation “Our Children”.
Traditionally managers were the organizational members who told others what to do and how to do it. Now, a manager is defined as the one who works with and through other people by coordinating their work activities in order to accomplish organizational goals.
In our base organization “Family”, the manager used to be the traditional type and he is considered the Top manager who is responsible for making organizational wide decisions and establishing the goals and plans that affect the entire organization.
The husband was always considered as the top manager where in his organization there is no middle nor first line managers and the non managerial employee was the wife who has to obey, fulfill her tasks and do what top manager asks for.
While management in the old sense was not fair enough for women, it was normal that new management theories should affect marriage too. Where the manager is the one who works with and through other people (family members) by coordinating their work to accomplish organizational goals.
Through the switch to new management theories, lots of disorders happened and I believe all top management responsibilities, tasks and jobs were thrown to the wife while the top management title is the only thing the husband wanted to keep.
Why did this happen and how? This is what we are searching for.
What are the corrective actions that need to be taken is what we have to think about. What are the measures of control is a big question that is struggling to find an answer. That is where my project is to start.
I believe the best way to go through my project is through “Introduction to management information and information Systems” using the “Decision model”.
